4th October 2009
This is the 1st news update in a long time, so quite a bit to update on.

We are in the process of re-jigging this website as its very dated now and updates were few and far between in the last year or so. This is partially due to the closure of Walthamstow which was our home track.

However when Poppy Blue and Special Force, our Pacific Mile x Matriarch - Nov 07 pups were due to begin racing we discovered Henlow. John Coleman found himself back on the training scene after a brief 'retirement'.

We have since increased our numbers once again (having sold most of our graded runners mid 2008) and have a nice little team of racers on the Henlow graded strength with John Coleman. Our current racers consist of just a handful of home-bred's and some bought in dogs too, makes a change as prior to the current batch I cant recall the last greyhound we actually bought as we generally breed all our own!

On the open scene, Special Liberty has proved a real little star. She won the Peter Bussey Memorial Final over 540m at Crayford in February. She then went on to win the Caffreys National Oaks at Nottingham in September, which she followed up with another win, a one off Cat 3 Open Race over 540m at Crayford  in Memory of John Davidson and Colin Wilson. We are absolutely delighted with her progress.

On the breeding front, we are very excited about our next litter due to start soon, the Westmead Hawk x Matriarch have just hit 12 months. They have been handslipped and all chase, they should start schooling in the next 6 weeks or so. We only kept 1 from the litter a blue bitch named Special Wispa, as at the time we had cut right down in our involvement and were virtually giving up.

Our Honcho Classic x Persephone litter were born in March 2009, and are shaping up really nicely. We are especially excited about these as this is the 1st time we have used a complete outcross sire on our Castlerea Delia damline.

More to come as and when time permits.
